OffBase Tools

01 / Why this exists

Most converters ask for your files. We ask for nothing.

Uploading a passport scan, a signed contract or a medical letter to a stranger's server is a normal thing to do on the internet, and it should not be. OffBase Tools exists because the conversion itself is small — a few seconds of CPU — and does not need a server at all.

What happens when you drop a file

01

Local file access

Browsers expose files through the File and Blob APIs. The page reads bytes from your disk and keeps them in memory.

02

Local compute

Canvas, WebAssembly and the PDF APIs do the conversion work inside the tab. Your CPU does the job; our server does nothing.

03

Local download

The result is written into a blob URL and handed back to your download folder. Closing the tab clears the memory.

What we never do

  • We never receive your files — there is no upload endpoint to receive them.
  • We never store documents, photos, signatures or ID scans on a server.
  • We never require an email address, account or trial counter.
  • We never watermark or downgrade your output.

What we do use

The site is free and stays free because it shows advertising (Google AdSense). Ad units may set cookies and read standard request data such as your approximate location and device type — that is how any ad network works. None of it gives us access to your files, because your files never leave the tab. You can block ad scripts entirely and every tool keeps working.

We do not run an account system, so there is no profile of you on this site to delete.

How to verify it yourself

  1. 01Open DevTools → Network, filter by Fetch/XHR, then convert a file. No request carries the file body.
  2. 02Turn off Wi-Fi after the page loads. Files still convert.
  3. 03Search the page source for `fetch(` — there is no upload call in the tool code.
