About OffBase Tools

Why we built it

OffBase Tools started from a simple frustration: almost every “free” file converter on the web asks you to upload your document to a server you have never heard of. For a passport scan, a signed contract, or private photos, that is a real risk. We wanted a set of everyday tools that simply cannot see your files — because the work happens on your own device.

What we are

We are a small, independent team that builds open, privacy-respecting web tools. We are not a data company. There is no login wall, no premium upsell that restricts core features, and no tracking pixel following you across the internet. The tools are free to use and supported by lightweight, non-intrusive advertising.

How the tools actually work

Every converter is powered by well-established, auditable browser technologies: the Canvas API for images, PDF.js for reading PDFs, and a WebAssembly decoder for Apple HEIC photos. Because all of this runs client-side, there is no backend that could leak your data — the architecture itself is the privacy guarantee. You can even disconnect from the network after a page loads and the tools keep working.

Our promise

  • No file you open is ever uploaded.
  • No account, no email, no registration.
  • Clear limitations stated on every tool page — no dark patterns.
  • Plain-language legal pages you can actually read.
